Pinktoe

Avicularia

This arboreal tarantula is another popular species.  You should have no problem finding it in a pet store, and it should not cost you an arm and a leg.

Another benefit of this spider is it is very mild and friendly, but can be very fast if startled.

This species is harder to care for than other species. Pink toes must be provided with more height than floor space. They will climb and make webs, so a tall cork bark or something similar is a must; in the wild, they live in trees.  This species needs very high humidity and must be provided with good ventilation.
